Interplas 2026 gave us the opportunity to meet manufacturers from across the plastics industry and discuss the challenges and opportunities they are facing.

Here are the five questions we were asked most often:

1. How can we improve production efficiency?

Many manufacturers are looking for ways to increase output while reducing costs.

Automation, material handling systems, conveyors and process improvements can all help achieve greater efficiency.

2. Is it better to service or replace older machinery?

While new machinery offers many advantages, regular servicing and preventative maintenance can often extend the life of existing equipment and improve reliability without the expense of a full replacement.

3. How can we reduce downtime during material and colour changes?

Reducing downtime remains a key priority for many processors. Using the right purge compound and following an effective changeover procedure can help reduce scrap, shorten cleaning times and get machines back into production faster.

4. What are the benefits of custom conveyor systems?

Custom-built conveyors can improve product flow, reduce manual handling, increase safety and integrate seamlessly into existing production lines.

5. How can we prevent unexpected machine failures?

Preventative maintenance, regular inspections and hydraulic oil analysis can help identify potential issues before they lead to costly breakdowns and lost production time.

Thank you to everyone who visited the 3PA stand at Interplas 2026. It was great to meet existing customers, industry partners and new contacts. We look forward to continuing the conversations and helping manufacturers improve efficiency, productivity and reliability across their operations.
